Further to my earlier review and your response - 1. This maybe the first occurrence of tube splitting but my experience proves it can happen. 2. I can assure you that the tube has not been repeatedly bended or folded. If that were the case there would certainly be more than two splits in it. 3. The tube has been stored in a bedroom drawer in which there are no sharp objects. I have not carried this in a bag as I would not wish to reapply this to my face during the day as it is too greasy. 4. It's surprising that you can ascertain from the two photos that I sent that 'it looks like I have used most of the product' when in fact I approximate that 30% has been used on the back of my hands as stated in my original review as I found it too greasy for my face. Also some product has been lost oozing out of the splits in the tube and I would not want to waste what remains as that would not be very environmentally friendly would it. 5. I brought this issue to your attention as a genuine problem and initially did not request a refund. It was only when being offered a replacement tube that I do not want did I request a refund. Also why should I have the inconvenience of sending the tube back to yourselves. I'm glad to bring this matter to a close.

Tube split

Further to my earlier review about the product being too greasy for me I experienced a problem with the packaging. The tube split in two places
and the product is oozing out even when the tube is not being squeezed.
Did I receive and apology and refund from the company - no, just a patronising lesson on how to squeeze an aluminium tube . So beware if this happens to you don't expect any satisfactory customer service from this company.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention,

We take all feedback seriously and hope to provide you with a better experience in the future.

This is the first occurance of tube spliting experienced by a customer. It can happen if the tube is repeatedly bended or folded. Our new tubes are made of 100% recycled aluminium which requires more care than plastic when it comes to handling and storage. Try to carry your tube away from sharp items, and keep it in a smaller bag or pouch. We also recommend squeezing the tube from the bottom (end) part and fold the crimp as you go. This will always keep your sunscreen closer to the orifice and easy to dispense. We believe these small tips will improve your experience and extend the longevity of your tube. You've also expressed issues with the formulation, but from the pictures you have attached, it looks you have used most of your product which is great to see. We have offered to replace your tube, but we unfortunately cannot offer refund on used products.

We apologize again for the inconvenience and hope we can regain your trust in the brand.

Best regards,

Great ethos, but break outs

I wanted this to be my go-to facial sunscreen, but it unfortunately causes my sensitive skin to break out. I’ve tried it twice with a couple weeks pause in between, and have had flare ups each time. It’s also quite greasy. I like the ethos behind the SPF, however, and it has a lovely smell.

Too greasy for me

Unfortunately I found this too greasy to use on my face. It has minimal white cast when rubbed in but my hair would stick to my face and the tacky feeling didn't abate till late in the day. Also it made my vitamin c serum underneath pill. Three stars because I love the ethos of the company and I can use the sunscreen on the back of my hands.

FAQ

Questions and Answers

Is this sunscreen safe for kids and while pregnant or nursing?

The absence of endocrine and reproductive disruptors in our sunscreens make them safe to use during conception, pregnancy and nursing. It is also safe to use on children from 6 months of age.

Will I get A White Cast?

We use micronised zinc oxide to minimise white cast although darker skin tones may observe a minor cast, particularly with the SPF 50 sunscreen. An even application and a little extra rubbing helps blend the creams fully.

What Does Reef-Safe Mean?

Many sunscreens contain ingredients that wash off our skins (or down the drain) to harm coral reefs, even at very small concentrations. Using a "reef safe sunscreen" means that no ingredients in that product will cause detrimental effects to marine life. That includes coral reefs but also marine mammals, turtles, fish and a variety of marine species. Remember that certain brands falsely claim to be "Reef-Safe" but actually contain chemicals harmful to ocean life, so always check the label for these toxic ingredients:

Oxybenzone,

Avobenzone,

Octinoxate,

Octocrylene,

Parabens,

Triclosan

How does SPF 50 differ from SPF 30?

No sunscreen actually blocks 100% of UV rays. SPF50+ sunscreens offer similar levels of UVB protection as SPF30 sunscreens but offer extra UVA protection. SPF50+ sunscreens allow 1/50th of ambient UV radiation through but filter out 98% of UVB radiation. SPF30 sunscreens admit 1/30th of ambient UV radiation, but block out 96.7% UVB

Is Zinc Oxide The Safer Option?

Zinc oxide provides excellent broad-spectrum protection and has several advantages over chemical actives.

Zinc particles sit on top of your skin and act as a reflective mirror to block UVA, UVB and Blue Light from penetrating your skin and causing damage and ageing.

Zinc oxide is also the only FDA and TGA approved broad-spectrum ingredient, and unlike any other active ingredient, its concentration in a product has no limitation.
